will.i.am To Release Brand-New Album #willpower On April 23

will.i.am‘s label Interscope Records released the below press release confirming April 23rd as the release date for #willpower, almost a month’s delay from the reported March 26th date from last week, and a two week delay from will.iam’s own tweet.  However, the GREAT news is that Interscope has confirmed that 2NE1 will feature on the album. We finally have official confirmation that our girls will appear on the album.

Multi-platinum producer and songwriter will.i.am has announced that he will release a solo album entitled #willpower on April 23 on Interscope Records.  The first single, “#thatPOWER“ featuring Justin Bieber is available on iTunes today and the video, directed by Ben Mor, will be released next month.  Additional songs on #willpower include tracks with Britney Spears, Hit-Boy, Waka Flocka Flame, Lil Wayne, Diddy, Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus, Skylar Grey, Juicy J, Eva Simons, apl.de.ap, Baby Kaely and 2NE1.

The album includes the multi-platinum selling single “Scream & Shout,” featuring Britney Spears, as well as “Scream & Shout (Hit-Boy Remix)” featuring Britney Spears, Hit-Boy, Waka Flocka Flame, Lil Wayne and Diddy. Produced by Lazy Jay, “Scream & Shout” has sold over 2.5 million singles and has racked up over 164 million views on VEVO.  The single reached #3 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Top 40 charts.

A seven-time Grammy Award-winner, will.i.am is known not only for his work with The Black Eyed Peas, who have sold 31 million albums and 58 million singles worldwide, but also for his work with some of the entertainment industry’s biggest names, including Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Usher, David Guetta and film composer Hans Zimmer. Recognized and honored by numerous industry organizations, will.i.am is the recipient of multiple Grammy Awards, a Latin Grammy Award, an Emmy Award, a CLIO Award, two NAACP Image Awards, a VH1 Do Something Award, the BMI President’s Award and a 2008 Webby Award.

Are you as wary of hearing “confirmed” dates for the release of #willpower as we are? We hope that this will be the final delay and that we will get the album next month. This is the first official confirmation of 2NE1′s appearance on the album so we are really excited!

With a huge hit featuring Britney Spears and his latest single alongside Justin Bieber,will.i.am is finally ready to unleash his long-awaited solo album. And if the guest features are anything to go by, it will be worth the wait.

#willpower, the Black Eyed Peas frontman’s fourth solo album will arrive April 23. It will, of course, feature “Scream & Shout”, his Spears collab, and “#thatPOWER” the Bieber feature.  Diddy, Lil Wayne, Waka Flocka Flame and Hit-Boy—who all appear on the “Scream & Shout” remix—will also appear, most likely, via the remix.

The rapper boasts an impressive lineup on the album, including Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus,Skylar Grey, Juicy J and Eva Simons. He’ll also reunite with BEP member apl.de.ap on a track—though no Fergie or Taboo.

Eight-year-old rapper Baby Kaely, who joined up with will.i.am for a tribute to the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting, is also featured, along with popular K-pop act 2NE1. Will’s rumored to be producing the latter outfit’s debut English album and this may be the first taste of what’s to come.

    If I had to take a guess, the track is still TTWO, but completed. The Intel release was the unfinished version that they played at the night club. Will mentioned that he had to put everything together in one night just to play it at Club Answer.

I just thought so because the dates have been pushed back a lot and sometimes it coincided with what YG said about the girls… like, they want everything 2NE1 to come out at once. :o Maybe they planned this… :O *dun dun DUN*
