Decked in coveted fashion brands’ hottest collection, 2NE1’s Bom, Dara and Minzy shined even brighter at the VIP premiere of ‘The Berlin File’ last January 23, 2013.
2NE1 sans CL sported most Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing’s brilliant, hand-crafted collections. Not to be out done, other 2NE1 beloved brands like Balenciaga, Azzedine Alaia, Chrome Hearts, Christian Louboutin, etc were also present. Like previous public appearances, 2NE1’s style became a hot discussion among fashion circles and critics in Seoul, bloggers and Kpop fans all over the world.
Due to the highly connected cast members such as Jeon Ji Hyun, Ha Jung Woo, Han Suk Gyuand Ryu Seung Bum, some of the hottest idol and Hallyu stars have attended VIP premiere of the highly anticipated film “Berlin” on January 23 in Seoul.
In addition to three of our four lovely 2NE1 ladies (CL was still heading back from Europe), Super Junior, Shinhwa, Hello Venus, Son Dam Bi, NU’EST, Roy Kim, Kang Sora, Lee Byung Hun, Jung Woo Sung, Go So Young, Song Ji Hyo, Hwang Jung Min, Jung Joon Young, Park Kyung Lim, Choi Min Sik, Park Han Byul, Jung Yoo Mi, Hong Soo Ah, Park Yoo Hwan, Lee Bum Soo attended the event and many more. About 2,000 fans and observers were present for the red carpet event to cheer on and support the film.
2NE1’s maknae Minzy whose fashion style is evolving is often seen in chic outfits. Minzy’s jeans were probably one of the hardest fashion finds — it could either be a hit or not, we came to agree that our maknae’s mid-rise skinny jeans could possibly be from J Brand Vera. To complete her look, she wore a favorite, a shoe brand she has been using since the To Anyone era — Azzedine Alaia lace up ankle boots.
Newly minted adult, Minzy strutted the red carpet in an all too familiar silhouette She paired Balmain’s gorgeous embellished red rose embroidered tank from the Fall 2012 Balmain collection (originally $2,179, but currently sold out) with a black jacket. The sleeveless tank top is hand-made black silk with a multi-coloured embellished needlework embroidered rose motif with a round neck.
The jacket, another stellar piece from Balmain’s latest collection, is the black version of the brand’s velvet quilt stitch motorcycle jacket. The jacket has quilt stitched paneling a band collar, with press-stud closures. The red version was originally priced at an astonishing $29,000USD+, but is currently on sale for $8,725.00 USD. We haven’t been able to find the black version on sale.
Dara once shared that she’s someone who seeks comfort in clothes, so we always spot her in jeans, sneakers and boyish, baggy clothes, but lately it seems she’s breaking her own barrier by wearing dresses, heels, headbands, etc. During the premiere, Dara wore Balmain’s black and white linen t-shirt which she wore with the stand out Balenciaga chic pink wool coat.
Dara paired her top with Balmain’s washed white jeans and Chrome Hearts’ silver heart-shaped belt. If not in Christian Louboutin, Louis Vuitton, Pierre Hardy, or Adidas, Dara is usually seen wearing Guiseppi Zanotti, a brand that is also fabulously known for making work of art shoes. This time she was in black Giuseppe Zanotti crocodile-print booties ($930 $744).
Dara snagged her tee right off Balmain’s Spring 2013 collection, the black and white harlequin printed tee costs roughly $527USD. Her bright pink wool coat from Balenciaga, a welcome respite from the darker colors most wore on the red carpet, is a fairly reasonable $896 USD . The coat itself is lined in pink silk, with glossy black textured buttons.
As soon as Park Bom hit the red carpet tongues began wagging of the return of her “doll-like beauty” as well as her “no-pants fashion“. Maybe netizens eyes were blinded these past months, her doll-like beauty has never left, but in either case she did look stunning.
Just when we all thought that Bom would wear pants due to the chilly weather in Seoul, the main vocal of 2NE1 chose her trademark shorts which she also wore with tights. Bommie was also dressed in a Balmain’s Spring 2013 collection. Just the right amount to warm her up, Bom wore the brand’s a long-sleeved linen shirt with black and white stripes ($905) together with a silk double-breasted blazer from Balmain’s Fall 2012 collection, the same blazer we saw members wear in the Scream PV as well as a number of other events.
We all know Bom’s fondness with the well-known shoe brand, Christian Louboutin ($725)., so it wasn’t a surprise to see her wear a pair of the brand’s Bana pumps. To finish the look, she accessorize her outfit with Pete Punk by Chrome Hearts ($2465) blue spiked clutch.
We are loving how she decided to opt for plain black nylons rather than the fashion tights she has become fond of lately. It may have overpowered the look, rather than keeping it sleek as she does.
We can say without any pretension that their outfits in this premiere was spot on, it clearly showed their individual style and personality.
How I wish CL was with them~ I say we need more public appearance or better yet a fabulous comeback!
