[130130] 2NE1 to Attend 2012 ‘Gaon K-Pop Awards’ on February 13th

The ‘Gaon K-Pop Awards‘ has revealed their guest line up.

Gaon revealed today that the ’2nd Gaon Chart K-Pop Award’ will be held at the Seoul Olympic Hall on February 13. Top stars such as Big Bang, Super Junior, 2NE1, Wonder Girls and more will be attending.

This event will be hosted by producer Joo Young Hoon and Brown Eyed Girls member Ga-in. This is Gain’s first time hosting a show since her 7 years in the industry.

This award ceremony collects all data from the past year and recognizes artists and songs that received the most attention and love throughout the year.

There will be 16 awards given out as well as awards for every month of 2012. Recall that in 2011, 2NE1 won the May Artist of the Year Award for their hit song ‘Lonely’. The “Artists of the Year Award” is given to an artist(s) for each month and then again for each quarter for a total of 16 possible awards in the year with possible overlaps. Given 2NE1′s #1 ranking on GAON in July, it’s likely they will again win at least one of the ‘Artist of the Year’ Awards.

For this year’s ceremony, they will also be recognizing the staff and production aspect of K-pop by awarding producers, composers, choreographers, stylists and more.

This award ceremony will be broadcast on all 3 of KBS’s channels. The red carpet event will begin earlier at 5:30PM KST.

Note: ~~This event has not been added to 2NE1′s calendar, however in the past 2NE1′s calendar has been updated very late, sometimes 1 or 2 days before the event~~. The event has now been added to the girls’ official schedule.

i think they will have a comeback soon.. coz thay keep on attending so many ceremony and awarding.. 2ne1 may not have a variety show but this past few months they always busy attending so many festival.

My prediction is Lee hi, G-Dragon, then 2NE1. IN a cycle of 3-4 weeks, if they’re able to grab mcountdown on the first week, then that’ll be every 3 weeks. We’ll see, cause 3 groups in one month (MARCH) is silly :/
