IPB 3 has finally arrived at YGLadies.

Welcome to IPB 3! Finally, it has arrived at YGLadies. After more than two years of discussion and planning, we have come to an agreement to upgrade to IPB 3. This upgrade also heralds 2NE1′s third anniversary! We have made a simple layout that would match our new home page at YGLadies.com, but we would like to let everyone know that we have a new, more permanent/elaborate layout in store that will be released later this year!

Our goals over the last few days were to add the necessary features, fix the inevitable errors of the upgrade, and get the site working. Unfortunately, there are still some items that we have not been able to repair, despite numerous attempts. They are listed below:

• Fatal Error(s) – some pages are inaccessible, and must be manually corrected to open. We tried to find all the threads, but, if you find additional ones, please post the links in this thread and we’ll attend to them.
• Post Formatting – The formatting in thousands of posts were compromised. Moderators have been working to correct formatting in their sections, so please be patient whilst we sort through these!
• PMs Incorrectly Labeled – The old and new PM system are not compatible, so some of your pms could be labeled as “deleted” even if they were not. This seems to be a known glitch of IPB, but should not affect your new PMs.

NOW TO THE GOOD STUFF!

IPB 3.3.1 offers a new interface for writing posts. This interface is called WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get), which makes it easier to format your posts without needing to type BB Codes manually. However, if you do like using BB Codes, you can still type them manually by clicking on the “Toggle Editing Mode” button – (first button that looks like a switch on the editor panel).

We are aware that many, many, many posts are just ruined after the upgrade – this affects Writer’s Corner and News Box the most. Moderators are working to manually reformat posts, but this is a monumental task that will take time. Feel free to edit your own posts, and know that we are working to reformat active/popular posts and fanfics as quickly as possible.

Tags are labels assigned to topics that help categorize content using simple keywords such as (ongoing, one shot, Dara, CL, Bom, Minzy, etc).

In the following forums: Writer’s Corner, Social Lounge, Talk 2NE1, and News Box, users will be able to add tags to their topics. This feature will enable members to find topics easier. Tagging has been a long awaited forum feature, especially with our fanfiction writers. We hope that everyone will enjoy this new and exciting feature.

In IPB 2.6.3 our Tech Admins have been changing member and staff usernames manually. With IPB 3.3.1, you now have the power to change your username on your own. You can change your name by simply going to My Settings > Display Name

Rules remain the same:

• Members can only change their usernames twice a year.
• In order for members to change their username, they must have 100+ posts for each new request, unless you have a compelling reason for changing your username.
• Donors do not have a limit.
• Username changes cannot use 2NE1′s name. eg: Lee Chaerin, Dara Park. (if you are currently using these names we will be contacting you soon about mandatory name changes.)
• Only one special character is allowed in all new member usernames.
• Staff members are only allowed to change their usernames once a year and must have 200+ posts for each new request.

Please note that this ONLY changes your username and NOT your log in name.

The popular “thanks” button continues to function with IPB 3.3. Unfortunately everyone will be starting back with 0 thanks. We could not import the old Thanks count to the new forum. If we find a way in the future to recover the old thanks amounts, we will definitely let you know.

We were unable to re-cache the donation log. If you made a donation through PayPal, we have those records from 2009 onwards. If you made a donation through offline methods and are not changed to donor status, let us know in the thread below. The donation system works the same as before.

New Donor Benefits:

1) Custom profile backgrounds — Similar to twitter and tumblr, donors will now have the ability to truly customize their profiles.

2) Unlimited name changes — Free to change your name whenever you want through the forum settings.

3) New shoutbox permissions — You can edit your shouts in the shoutbox, and you do not have to meet the 1 post minimum shoutbox requirement

As we mentioned before, Streaming Media and Eye Candy are now open to guest members. You do not need to be logged in to read those forums.

On May 18th, our servers, as well as the entire server network, will be going down for a scheduled maintenance; this will affect our entire YGLadies.com domain. We will still have Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr available.

If you come across any other errors, please, please let us know as soon as possible.
