It’s hard, Blackjacks, to keep calm when your favorite four ladies have been playing ninja for months. We are all getting slightly desperate and believe me when I say I would wake up every day, optimistic that these four fabulous females will have released a teaser of some sort, only to be a little heartbroken when I discover it hasn’t yet happened. So over time I’ve learned that being depressed over this situation is not helping anyone and I’ve come up with ways to look at this situation from different perspectives! It has really helped me and, in short, I’ve discovered optimistic ways to ease my aching Blackjack heart.

Today, I’m going to share with you all my thoughts, give some advice, and hopefully encourage ways to look forward to what is to come!

“Good things comes to those who are patient.”

So we’ve been waiting and waiting, sitting by our computer’s refreshing and updating. We’ve grown a little weary of waiting by this time and as I look around, I’ve noticed hope is starting to fade. But BLACKJACKS! Look at it this way! Some of the things you look forward to only happen once a year or seem to take forever to come, right? For example: are you a senior and looking forward to graduation after four long years of school? Perhaps every year you look forward to your birthday? Christmas? New Year? Or maybe you’ve ordered a bunch of 2NE1 merchandise and you LOATH having to wait for it to arrive at your doorstep?

While waiting can be one of the hardest things in the universe, you have to admit – after a long period of waiting, you feel even more overjoyed when you finally get to whatever you’ve been waiting for! Imagine that 2NE1′s comeback is something like that! We may feel like it’s taking forever, but you can bet that once it happens, the joy will be unimaginable!

2NE1 + waiting = lessons in patience.

Even if all Blackjacks are currently crying pool’s of tears, ripping their hair out, or sighing sad sighs, there is one thing all the waiting has taught me: have more patience! It’s easy to get impatient, wish that our girls would hurry, or blame every person in YG’s management team, but I imagine that, just like I don’t like to be rushed, our girls must not like it much either. Keeping that in mind, I always try to remind myself that if I don’t like to be rushed when I’m working, I should try and take a deep breath and remember that our girls are working hard too. I shouldn’t rush the creative process, because in the end Blackjacks are gaining something from this wait besides new music -  another lesson in how to be patient!

As CL wisely said recently: ”If you think negatively, negative things will happen as a result. So we think of positive things, hoping more good things can happen.”

Waiting gives us a chance to look back on reason’s why we love our girls!

Looking back on the reasons why we love our girls can give us all a more positive outlook while we wait. While there is a list a mile long for why we love each of our fierce four, one reason stands out the most. Our girls simply lighten up our days with their personalities both on and off stage! The bond they all share is clear and the love they have for each other and us Blackjacks has always been there. While we wait, compiling our own lists of why we each love our girls makes us remember the reasons we fell in love with them in the first place! You can also watch 2NE1 TV clips because watching them act dorky never gets old!

Showing support productively.

 
Showing my support to them actively makes me feel connected and closer to 2NE1. For example, small things like tweeting Bom, Minzy, & Dara and leaving messages on CL‘s Instagram all make me feel like I’m sending them my support personally!  We all know how much 2NE1 loves fan letters and messages and this is a good way to show them that we are still waiting for and supporting them. So I advise you to do that if you are feeling disconnected from the girls! Dara has been replying to fans regularly so you may get lucky! Also, remember that CL and Bom‘s birthdays are coming up, giving you another chance to pour out your hearts out onto YGL’s messagebook projects and let them know you love them! There is also a twitter trending event planned to  take place on the 1st of February, with Blackjacks tweeting the hashtag #GiveUs2NE1 to show how much we want 2NE1 to come back. Please remember to be respectful while trending, as our behavior as fans also reflects on the image of 2NE1!

Keeping up with what 2NE1 are up to right now!

While focusing too much on the future, we take for granted the events that are happening right now! For one, our jettsetter CL is getting some serious international love. With Rihanna following her on Instagram, rapper A$AP Rocky posing beside her, and some very high end designers showering her with adoration, we can be assured that CL is building bridges high and low!  While the idea may be a little “out there” for some people, let’s never forget that one connection in the music industry leads to many others, and with our ladies, the surprise element is always one to be expected!

Moreover, Dara is slowly starting to tease us about her new Clio contract! As you might know, she finished her contract with Etude House and now we can look forward to a more fresh, more mature look from her as she starts representing the make-up brand Clio.

Minzy, Bom, and Dara also recently attended the VIP premier of the film “Berlin,” making headlines with their fashion. Let’s look forward to more public appearances like this!

It’s also interesting to note that 2NE1′s achievements still keep rolling in, despite no official album release in 2012. The girls managed to shift 40,744 Korean Albums and rank 9th in the Top 15 Female Artists Sales of 2012. This is amazing, considering the fact they beat out groups that released new albums last year.

Whether it is looking back or looking at current events, let’s not overlook the things our girls do presently and achieve, both individually and as a group.

Thinking of 2NE1 as a group within a company.

We all know that a new girl group under YGE is soon to debut and they will be gathering a lot of attention. It’s important to give our respect to the new group and remain patient with 2NE1′s comeback, just as other YGE-related fans did when 2NE1 debuted! We must remember that as a company, it is important for YGE to schedule wisely for new rookies and allow each group their time to shine. Let’s all remember that being a new group isn’t easy, and while 2NE1 has already flourished, their new sister group will soon need to as well!

Looking at 2NE1 as perfectionists has its advantages!

Our girls are known to always give all they can do to anything they do. When it comes to music, if they want to rerecord something even 100 times just to get it right – that’s just what our ladies will do, and that’s why we love them. It’s a known fact that during the recording of Ugly, Dara recorded her bridge solo many times over, just so she could get the feeling of the song’s emotion exactly right. When it comes to a new album, you can be sure our girls are working hard to convey every emotion that each song may represent. While we wait, let’s keep in mind that we will not be disappointed with the work our girls are doing behind the scenes!

Moreover, it may seem like our girls can do it all, but as Blackjacks we all have to remember that our ladies are only human and they get tired, sick, and homesick too. In the time they’ve been away, it may seem like they’re forever trolling us or sitting around doing nothing. But, if you pay close attention, you can see that our girls are always hard at work with one thing or another and just like we all get some vacation time, our girls need some too! Spending some time to sleep and rest or see family sometimes is all you need to feel re-energized, and with that in mind I think to myself, “I’d rather wait a long time than see my favorite ladies over worked and tired.”

Remembering that quality work takes a lot of hard work and inspiration.

Sometimes we all forget who the masterminds behind 2NE1‘s songs are – with Teddy being one of biggest. During the time 2NE1 TV was aired, we saw just how important he really is to 2NE1, with CL even calling him the fifth 2NE1 member. Teddy has created and produced a lot of 2NE1′s most popular songs alongside people like Lydia Paek, and has constantly served up hits for our ladies, even though lyrics can be hard to come up with if you lack inspiration and music isn’t always as easy as a beating a drum or strumming a guitar.

2NE1 is known for having great lyrics alongside danceable beats and MVs that are always fun to watch, but a full length album, which consists of sometimes more than fourteen songs, can be extremely time consuming. With this in mind, we can all trust that behind the scenes people like Teddy are working hard to find the inspiration to make music that we’ll enjoy and love. Let’s all send him much love and happy messages to remind him that we’re grateful and that we can wait.

Keep in mind that 2NE1 has NEVER disappointed us before!

When it comes to 2NE1, our ladies might keep us waiting, but they always deliver! From the MVs to the songs, everything our girls put their mind to doing, they have done well! Despite a short amount of time to prepare for the New Evolution Tour concerts, our ladies took every city they visited by storm! They sang and danced on high rise platforms and, in the end, the energy they gave off was enough to impress many critics who went to the shows.

The end result was a very successful 1st World Tour and a DVD that’s to die for! This shows us that no matter what happens, our girls always try their best for us Blackjacks, so we Blackjacks owe it to them to continue to cheer them on.

Appreciating 2NE1′s ability to break out of the box.

Although 2012 was a quiet year in terms of music releases, our girls were active all year long, juggling between some amazing photoshoots, a much loved and super sexy single, “I Love You,” and being the first K-pop ladies to have a successful World Tour. Going on tour is sadly a rare feat for Korean girl groups – let alone being able to have concerts in the U.S. This is something to be really proud of and it’s a great moment in 2NE1′s career, as they have expressed many times. Our girls showed that they are not only able to take the music world by storm, but are ready to take risks and step out of the box.

A new year means new fashion!

If you are a fan of fashion, this year will be another year full of excitement for you! No matter what our girls step out in, we are always both shocked and in awe at everything they pull off! No matter the weather, time, or place, they are sure to always be fashion forward and give us all something to talk about. Half the fun with 2NE1 is imagining what our girls will wear at the airport, in magazine shoots, MVs, and onstage! While we wait we can be sure that 2NE1 are preparing to come back and come back strong – and what goes hand in hand with music? As our leader CL said, none other than FASHION! Also… who else thinks that the massive amount of baggage CL brought back from London and Paris are filled with new outfits for a comeback? Haha~

New dance moves anyone?

I cannot be the only Blackjack who loves seeing our girls DANCE?! When it comes to 2NE1, I always I look forward to seeing what they’ll do on stage! When it comes to dancing, our girls are known to practice hard. Though without the help of 2NE1TV we have no idea of knowing just what our girls do when it comes to the practice rooms of the YGE building, we can be assured that our girls do work hard to dance their hardest and best, even if Bom sometime fails at capturing the moves properly. At the end of this wait, we are sure to be treated to some new awesome and creative dance moves – not only from our maknae, but from all our ladies!

Looking out for growth.

A new comeback means we can look forward to new hairstyles, new fashion and new music. Bom, Dara, CL, and Minzy are always evolving and growing. This is clear through everything they do! While we, as Blackjacks, may feel a bit shut out because we don’t see our girls as often during this waiting time, when they come back there is sure to be something new that each of our girls bring to everything they do. It’s an exciting thought to have witnessed the growth each of our girls has undergone this past year, and with our love and support our girls will continue to work hard!

Bombshell Barbie Bom is SO worth the wait!

When it comes to Bom, many of us simply cannot get enough! Not only does her personality make her relatable – she is like a walking, talking, adorable alien! This year Bom turns 30 years old, so let’s look forward to how that may have changed her or if she will continue to be as weird as ever! Let’s also hope that the songs made for the comeback uses her vocals in the right way, because as much as we love Bom’s powerful voice, we hope that it is not overwhelmed.

Daring darling Dara is SO worth the wait!

Dara is simply one of a kind! She is daring (those hairstyles?! only she can rock!) and a treat to watch! She has soft, sweet vocals and an energy that can make us all excited and energized!  When it comes to the wait, just imagining what Dara has up her sleeve is half the fun! No matter what she wears, or what hairstyle she has, we can always be sure Dara will give us her all. Let’s hope we can see her play her guitar properly this comeback!

Charismatic cutie CL is SO worth the wait! 

CL‘s random Instagram updates really have us on edge – from her hanging out with the coolest designers to many YG producers! We keep wondering what she is up to, and whatever it is, it’s sure to be amazing. As the leader of 2NE1, it is also interesting to see CL always individually improving while representing 2NE1 as a group perfectly. It is exciting to see how she will lead 2NE1 in the comeback and also how and if we will be seeing any solo work this year.

Marvelous maknae Minzy is SO worth the wait! 

Our Minzy has finally turned 20! I know what you’re probably thinking… What does that mean? Well, in Korea, turning twenty years of age makes you a legal adult. (Minji an adult?! Oh My tears!) This means all the things Minzy couldn’t do before, she can enjoy now. This means that when our girls do comeback, there will be a lot less “isn’t Minji too young for that?” talk and more “OMG! OMG OMG!” reactions, and rightfully so! And let’s not forget the tweet from Dara that excited us all… “Now that Minji is an adult, 2NE1 becomes the REAL 2NE1.”

2NE1 IS WORTH THE WAIT!

Even though the wait seems like it’s lasting forever and all of us miss our girls like crazy, there is no denying that our girls are worth waiting for. They light up our hearts and bring smiles to our faces. They make us dance, laugh, and cry. They bring us a joy that only they can bring and they make each day a little brighter and easier. They make us excited when they update their social media accounts and make us worry if they don’t. They are OUR girls, Bom, Dara, CL, and Minji, who make up 2NE1. We miss them, and though the wait may be hard, we can rest assured that our girls are working hard.

During this time let’s send them love and happiness to encourage them always. Let’s smile and blast our favorite 2NE1 songs and re-watch our favorite music videos over and over again. Let’s head over to YouTube and giggle over old 2NE1TV and interviews. Let’s remember and re-live almost four years’ worth of love and music. Let’s wait with faith in our hearts, because 2NE1 is coming and 2013 is the year.
